- Our purpose is the see the New Testament Church established and brought to complete fruition through the five-fold ministry of the church; creating a strong Body of Christ worthy of the soon return of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
- Our purpose is to grow and equip men and women of God that will faithfully stand upon and declare the promise of scripture found in Philippians 4:13; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired errorless
Word of God,
given to men of God by the Holy Spirit; and accept the same as the only
infallible guide of our faith, practice, and doctrine. (Matthew 24:35, Psalms 119:89, II Timothy 2:15, Matthew 5:18, Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33)
WE BELIEVE in the eternal omnipotent, omnipresent, and immutable
triune God, maker of heaven and earth; and in the unity of the Godhead where three persons, equal in every divine perfection and attribute, execute distinct, harmonious offices, in the great work of redemption. (I John 5:7, II Corinthians 13:14, Genesis 1:1-28)
God The Father – Referred to in the Old Testament as Jehovah God, the Father and Creator of all; co-existing in purpose to see His Divine will and eternal plan fulfilled in the Godhead and revealed in mankind. (Isaiah 43:10-11, Isaiah 44:8, John 3:16)
God The Son – Co-existent and co-eternal with the Father, the Son, was conceived by the Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, to take upon Himself the form of man. The birth of Christ fulfilled the prophetic Word of the Old Testament Prophets that the Messiah would come through the lineage and house of David. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived on earth for 33 years, with the last 3 and _ years of His time on earth given to fulfilling God’s Divine will and ministry. Jesus earthly ministry was filled with numerous miracles proving to all He was in fact the Son of God. Jesus then followed God’s ultimate plan by becoming obedient unto His death on the cross where through the shedding of His blood brings the remission of sin to all those who believe on Him. In His death Jesus bore the curse of sin, sickness, sorrow, and redeemed mankind back to God. The Son, Jesus Christ, was buried in a borrowed tomb, then arose the third day conquering death and the grave and ascended unto heaven, where He sits at the right hand of God the Father forever making intercession for mankind.
(John 1:1-3, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31, I Timothy 2:5, Ephesians, 2:18, Philippians 2:6-11, I Corinthians 15:3, II Corinthians 5:21)
God The Holy Spirit – The third person of the Godhead, co-existent and equal with God the Father, sent by the Father, through the Son, to reprove the world of sin and through His power prepare the Body of Christ, the church, for eternity as the Bride of Christ. The Holy Spirit is sent to dwell in mankind to reflect God the Father through the Son. (John 14:26, John 15:26, John 16:8, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, II Corinthians 2:14)
WE BELIEVE that man is a sinful being in need of redemption as a result of the fall of one man, Adam; and therefore, every man is in need of God’s plan of redemption through His Son, Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:1-24, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23,
Romans 5:12)
WE BELIEVE God’s plan of redemption is brought to mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ, and that Christ was the Lamb of God, foreordained from the foundation of the world to be the Sacrificial Lamb, Who would give His life by being crucified upon a cross, that the price of sin could be paid by the shedding of His blood. We believe that through this act of redemption Jesus Christ has provided salvation for all mankind.
(I Peter 1:19-21, Isaiah 53:3-10, Titus 2:14, Hebrews 7:25, John 3:16)
WE BELIEVE that because of man’s total ability to save or redeem himself, salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through sincere, godly repentance and whole-hearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as one’s personal Savior. We believe that through the act of accepting Christ as one’s Savior, he or she is born again by the Spirit of God and as a result is a new creature in Christ, the deeds of the past are washed away and forgiven, and life then becomes new in Christ as a Christian.
(John 3:1-16, II Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 2:20, I Peter 2:24)
WE BELIEVE that man’s justification is by grace through faith in Our Lord’s sacrifice, which He gave on the cross at Calvary. (Romans 3:21-24, Ephesians 2:8-9)
WE BELIEVE in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. We further believe that having been cleansed by the blood of Christ and quickened by the Spirit, it is God’s will that we should partake of His holiness; therefore, we should walk after the things of the Spirit, and forsake the very appearance of evil realized in mankind’s fleshly desires. (Romans 8:1-11,
Romans 12:1-2, I John 2:29, II Corinthians 7:1, I Peter 1:15, I Thessalonians 5:22, Philippians 2:12-13)
WE BELIEVE that water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is commanded as an ordinance of scripture, and therefore a commandment given to us from God. We further believe that Water Baptism is subsequent to salvation and in and of itself is not a saving ordinance, but an outward sign of an inward work.
(Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Matthew 3:6-16, Mark 1:9-10, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16)
WE BELIEVE in the commemoration of the Lord’s Supper, or Holy Communion, as being symbolic of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. We further believe that the partaking of communion is an ordinance of scripture showing forth the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; and that this ordinance is to be followed until the return of Christ for all Christians. New Life Worship Center believes that communion is for all Christian Believers, and therefore is served to all Christians who desire to partake regardless of church affiliation or denomination. (Luke 22:14-20, I Corinthians 10:16-17, I Corinthians 11:23-33,
Acts 2:42-46)
WE BELIEVE the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a definite experience, not identical with one’s conversion or salvation experience. We further believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the Christian recipient speaking in an unknown tongue as the Spirit of God gives to him or her their utterance. We further believe through the teaching of scripture that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power, and to equip them for ministry and service to the Kingdom of God. We further believe that the dispensation of the Holy Spirit is current, and that Baptism of the Holy Spirit is intended for every Christian believer who asks in faith to receive from God.
(Joel 2:28-30, John 14:16, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 8:14-20, Acts 19:6,
I Corinthians 12:4-7)
WE BELIEVE that having received the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, the believer should experience a continual renewing by and through the Holy Spirit. We further believe that the Holy Spirit is as a gentle dove, and can be easily grieved through acts known by the believer not to be conducive to a close walk with God. We further believe that scripture indicates the divine will of God is for every Christian believer to abide in His Spirit. (Ephesians 4:30-32, Ephesians 5:18-19, Acts 4:31, I Corinthians 3:16-17,
Galatians 5:16-25, I John 2:6)
WE BELIEVE that for the edification of the saints, and the building of the Body of Christ, the Holy Spirit has the following gifts to bestow upon the individual believer as He desires: Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Prophecy, Faith, Healing, Working of Miracles, Diverse Tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, and Discerning of Spirits. These gifts should be coveted earnestly by all spiritual believers, and exercised in the spirit of love. We also believe in the fruits of the Spirit, which should be shown in the life of every Christian believer. The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.
(I Corinthians 12:7-11, I Corinthians 12:31, Galatians 5:22-23, John 15:4-8)
WE BELIEVE in divine healing, which was provided by the atonement of Jesus Christ at the time of His suffering prior to His death on the cross. We believe in the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted, and that God desires to heal today in answer to a believing prayer.
(Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:14-16, Acts 3:16, I Peter 2:24)
WE BELIEVE that every born-again child of God should identify with the visible church of Jesus Christ, should labor diligently, and should contribute their temporal means toward the spreading of the gospel here on earth. We believe that tithes and offerings should be given into the storehouse of the Lord, which is the local church.
(Nehemiah 13:10-14, Hebrews 10:24-25, Psalms 111:1, Acts 2:47, Acts 16:5,
Romans 12:5-16, Malachi 3:8-12, II Corinthians 9:6-7, I Corinthians 16:2,
Matthew 23:23)
WE BELIEVE the local church is the Body of Christ; representing God on earth as His ambassadors of Christ. We believe the church’s unity is spiritual, its culture completely diverse, and its mission eternal. We further believe in the priesthood of every Christian believer, which gives them direct access to God. (John 3:16, John 17:11, I Peter 2:5,
II Corinthians 5:20-21, Ephesians 4:13-16, Hebrews 12:18-23)
WE BELIEVE that the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is to preach the gospel of salvation to every nation, is literal, imperative, and binding today. We further believe that the great commission is the supreme privilege and duty of the church, and that both home and foreign missions should be the focal point of every local Body of Christ. (Matthew 9:38, Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:13-15,
James 5:20)
WE BELIEVE in the five-fold ministry of the New Testament Church: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. We further believe that God speaks to His church body through these called men and women of God. We believe God divinely calls individuals to fill one of these ministries to the Body of Christ, and that the local Body of Christ is well and complete when each one of these ministries is active with a voice in the church. We believe that every Christian is empowered by the Holy Spirit and should be used in the Kingdom of God in ministry; but that these ministry gifts have been established as called assignments for the purpose of equipping the saints for a variety of ministry efforts for the Kingdom of God. (Ephesians 4:11-16, Ephesians 2:20,
Acts 20:28, Romans 12:7-8, I Corinthians 2:12)
WE BELIEVE in the bodily resurrection of both the Christian believer and the non-believer; the Christian believer to everlasting life in heaven God, and the non-believer to eternal damnation in hell without God. We further believe heaven is a literal place where those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior will live in eternity in the presence of God in inexplicable joy and happiness. We also believe that hell is a literal place of outer darkness, bitter sorrow, remorse, woe, originally prepared by God for the devil and his angels. We believe that hell burns with fire and brimstone, and because of sin, is the eternal destiny of all who choose not to accept Christ, and whose names are not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, which is the Book of record in heaven of all who have called on the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
(Revelation 7:15-17, Revelation 14:2-11, Revelation 20:10-15, Revelation 21:4-8, Revelation 22:5, Matthew 25:41, Mark 9:43-44, I Corinthians 2:9, John 14:2-4)
WE BELIEVE that the return of Christ is imminent and pre-millennial. We believe in accordance to the scripture that at the time appointed by God, which is known only by God, the Arch Angel will sound a trumpet, and immediately those who are Christian believers will be caught up to heaven to spend eternity with Christ. We further believe that every individual is commanded of Christ to be prepared for this event by salvation and continual belief in Jesus Christ. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Titus 2:12-13,
Matthew 24:36-44, Acts 1:11, I Corinthians 15:49-55)
